The province of Ulster consists of the six counties of Northern Ireland (part of the United Kingdom) and three counties in the Irish Republic. During the Great War the island of Ireland was part of the United Kingdom. This site contains information on more than 60 Public War Memorials, plus many other memorials, mainly in Northern Ireland. Each Public War Memorial page contains a photograph and description of the memorial, and where possible, its location and background information on its unveiling and dedication. Many pages also include the Names of the Fallen and those who served and returned. The memorials are dedicated to commemorating the thousands of men and women from, or who had connections with this part of Ulster who paid the supreme sacrifice during the Great War and Second World War and the tens of thousands of others who served in the armed services of numerous Allied countries.
