THE MIDLAND RAILWAY COMPANY (Northern Counties Committee), WAR MEMORIAL formally located in York Road Railway Station, the Belfast terminus of the system.

Upon the obelisk there are four bronze tablets, one on each of the sides. The tablet on the south side bears the following inscription: -

‘In remembrance of those who laid down their lives.’

On the three other tablets are inscribed the names of those who served and returned.

On the plinth the following words are inscribed: -

‘In honour of the members of the staff, who volunteered and served in his Majesty’s forces during the Great War, 1914-19.’
