Brookeborough
DSC02077
DSC05668

Brookeborough village, County Fermanagh.

This was originally a memorial to the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers who fought in the South African War (Boar War). It has been impossible to obtain a precise date for the engraving of the Great War inscription.

The original inscription has become so badly eroded that most of it is impossible to read.

A new plaque had been added recently.

The inscription on the new plaque is:-

THIS PLAQUE IS PLACED ON THIS

MONUMENT IN MEMORY OF THOSE FROM

BROOKEBOROUGH AND DISTRICT

WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN TWO WORLD WARS

1914 – 1918    1939 – 1945.
